ICS Annual Corporate Meeting

What happens during an ICS annual corporate meeting? It’s quite simple, really. The newly refurbished multi-purpose fellowship hall gets jam-packed. Corporate members patiently line up to sign the attendance roll to signify their presence. The head pastor and Board president opens the meeting with a prayer and calls everyone to order. Everyone settles in his or her seat and the roll call begins. At least, that’s what happened in this year’s meeting.

This year, 118 out of 147 bona fide corporate members were present, more than enough for a quorum to be established.

Ptr. Jerry Balbuena called on Ptr. Jesse Dedel to share a devotional word before the formal proceedings commenced. Ptr. Jesse reminded the members in attendance about the primacy the raising up of “replacements”, new followers of Christ, within His Body. He emphasized the paramount need of the church to be giving and creative, and to be engaged pro-actively in the discipleship process.

After the brief time in Scripture, Ptr. Jerry took over. As an introduction to his annual report as Board president, he first spoke on the primary duties of a leader. He segued to his detailed report of what ICS, with its various ministries and area churches, had accomplished and achieved for 2007. He encouraged everyone to prepare for “the next level” as ICS prepares to take a more aggressive evangelistic and discipleship-oriented approach in its ministry endeavors.

This was followed by the church’s annual financial report, given by Bro. Ariel Rodriguez. He talked about the positive cash position of ICS for 2007 as compared to the previous year’s.

The next item on the agenda was the election of seven (7) new members of the Board of Elders (BOE) to replace the seven out-going ones. Bro. Benny Fuentes(?), himself an out-going BOE member, recognized the rest of his co-members and thanked them for serving the BOE for the past two years. Then, the nine (9) incoming candidates were presented. The election process began. Corporate members in attendance were each given their official ballots. There they wrote down their chosen candidates and dropped their lists in the ballot box. When all the votes were tallied the following persons were elected as the new Board of
Elders:

Ms. Annabelle Grey
Ms. Choleen Lema
Mr. Rogelio Margallo
Ms. Jessica Ragaza
Ms. Wendy Rondina
Ms. Sonia Sumcad

Words of congratulations abounded within the hall. Ptr. Jerry formally closed the meeting with a prayer of thanksgiving unto the Lord for the successful proceedings, all for His glory.
