Honoring the ICS Moms

Mother’s Day at ICS proved to be more than special; it was perhaps one of the best services dedicated to honoring the moms over the years.

Ptr. Jerry Balbuena talked about a mother’s living legacy, a message based on Proverbs 31. Before that, a funny video entitled “The Mom Song” was shown. The hilarious clip showed a singer-comedienne breathlessly rendering a song made up entirely of the rants that a mother usually says within a 24-hour period, condensed into 3-minutes, and sung to the tune of “William Tell’s Overture”.

After the very inspiring sermon, the mothers and would-be mothers were all called to the stage. A long line of moms soon filled the front. It was an amazing to note that, when they were called, almost half of the congregation stood up. Another video, this time an AVP of the moms of ICS, was shown.

There was not a dry eye in the sanctuary after Abigail Bamo rendered a truly heartwarming rendition of the Filipino classic “Ugoy ng Duyan”, with Joshua Padla on the acoustic guitar. Everyone was visibly touched, especially the mothers who were being honored.

The sanctuary fell into a deep, solemn hush when they were prayed for by Sis. Wendy Rondina. This gesture of respect and love only goes to show that the moms have really made a great impact to the lives of their children. After all, everyone in the audience has, or had, a mom.
