Children’s Church
The song “Jesus loves the Little Children” is certainly true to ICS’ Children’s Church. Every Sunday, kids from 3 to 11 years old are gathered to learn stories from the Bible, play fun games, and sing songs in Sunday School while their parents attend the service in the main sanctuary.
The children first meet altogether in a large gathering similar to the “big” church of their moms and dads. There they get to have a time of corporate worship and hear the Word of God in a way that they will all understand. The children are then grouped according to age and grade level: ages 3-4 (Toddlers), 5-6 (Beginners), 7-8 (Primary), 9-10 (Middlers), and 11-12 (Juniors) and proceed to have their age-specific and really fun Sunday school activities. After this, the kids are treated to some snacks. Church-going kids never had it so good!
Last May, the Children’s Church held its “Promotion Sunday”; some members of the Juniors class “graduated” and were endorsed to the Hi-Teeners, the church’s study group for High School students.The Children’s Church teachers meet every Sunday at 9:30 am for their devotional time in preparation for teaching the kids. They also meet every last Sunday of the month for evaluation and planning for the coming months’ lessons and activities.For more information on the Children’s Church please contact Sis.
