Ministry Dev’t Program

The Ministry Development Program conducted a one-day Feeding and Medical Mission outreach last July 30, 2007. The one-day outreach took place at the Nagpayong National High School in Sitio Nagpayaong, Bgy. Pinagbuhatan Pasig City .

Sixteen doctors ( general practitioners and pediatric specialists), 24 student nurses from the Pamantasan Lungsod ng Pasig, School of Nursing and one registered nurse volunteered their services alongside a ministry staff of 115 ministry personnel (comprised of ICS church leadership, staff and volunteer workers, and ministry workers from the Master’s Commission Philippines-Asia Network, a youth discipleship program).

Together, they ministered to a total of five hundred eighty three local residents from Sitio Nagpayong.

The Medical Mission Outreach is designed to minister to the felt needs of people living in under-privileged communities. It aims to translate the Gospel into a language that the masses can understand, by ministering it in tangible ways; i.e., free medical and dental services, free distribution of medicines, feeding programs, etc.

By doing so, ICS seeks to fulfill both its socio-civic responsibility as well as the second greatest Commandment according to our Lord Jesus Christ, which is to love one’s neighbor.

Sitio Nagpayong Medical Outreach

Sitio Nagpayong, Pasig City was the chosen beneficiary of this outreach primarily because of the needs identified by the leadership of ICS Mayflower and our satellite church in Nagpayong. A survey of the area was conducted late April 2007, which revealed that a significant number of its residents had various ailments, predominantly infants and mothers. A representative from the local health office was also consulted and apprised of our survey findings and the MO plans for June 2007. Detailed plans were then developed, with requests for medicines and medical expertise.

Various locations within Sitio Nagpayong were considered during the planning stages. The venue that was finally selected was Nagpayong High School , made possible through the offer from the school’s Principal. The outreach was held on 30 June 2007 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sixteen doctors and twenty four registered nurses volunteered their services alongside our church’s leadership and ministry staff. Together, we ministered to five hundred eighty seven local residents from Sitio Nagpayong.

As patients came: (i) they were seated and registered, (ii) and their vital signs were taken by the registered nurses. (iii) While waiting, these patients were treated to a mini-show of short skits and dance numbers by the Master’s Commission, a youth discipleship program. (iv) Then, they were examined & prescribed medicines by the medical specialists. (v) Finally their prescriptions were filled by the pharmacists.

Total Number of Patients - A total of 583 patients, 170 adults and 413 children, representing 285 families, were served.
