In celebration of ICS’ 40th Anniversary, the contest invites all ICS members to submit a perspective of a proposed ICS structure. The perspective shall take into consideration the following:
- A building/structure that shall symbolize what ICS is all about: “A caring community connecting people to Christ.” It should symbolize ICS members’ collective hope of a caring community radiating the love of Christ into every community.
- The structure should be able to house the mission of ICS:
- To worship God.
- To nurture people to love God and others.
- To reach all peoples with the gospel of Christ.
- Efforts are also being undertaken to explore joint venture initiatives with reputable companies. Other than housing conventions with dormitory facilities and trainings of missionaries, the structure should also consider the possibility of allocating several floors for condominium/residences as these may be the desire of the partnering company/ies.
- A high-rise structure of 30-40 floors may be the ideal joint-venture project for ICS and its partner.
- The contest is open to all ICS members.
- ICS member can opt to ask non-ICS members to make the perspective provided that it shall be submitted by the member. As such, the entry will still be considered as belonging to the member with reference to the designer.
- Any cost shall be borne by the participant/member.
- There shall only be one winning entry. A cash prize shall be awarded to the member.
- Deadline of entries will be on February 14, 2016.
- Announcement of winner will be on February 28, 2016.
- Submit entries via email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Behind every celebration is a group of people who have the same goal in their minds and hearts: mark a special milestone in their lives. Our Senior Pastor has called some church members to take part in planing for the 40th Anniversary. The team is led by Sis. Wendy Engcoy who works hand in hand with Hanilette Lema, Chester Lema, GJ Engcoy, Ardie Balderrama, Richard Samellano, Reah Padla, Misty Dado, Ptr. Toffer Tayco, Ptr. Lemuel Adeser, and the couple Pastor Jules and Rachel Pranoto who were recently called to serve in Indonesia.
Pray that God will give His wisdom to the 4D+ Team as they continue to plan for the grand celebration happening in January 2016.

A number of us here at ICS must have asked ourselves, what’s in the 40th Anniversary Logo. Everybody knows that a logo graphically represents what an entity believes in and stands for. So, what is the meaning behind the logo that we adapted for our highly significant celebration in January of 2016?
4D+ stands for Four Decades Plus. We are celebrating four decades of God’s faithfulness in and through the church. 4D+ symbolizes every single moment that makes up the history of ICS- all the challenges and transitions it experienced as it seeks to be a “caring community connecting people to Christ” throughout its 40 years of existence.
+(Plus). Considering that there had been preparations prior to the first-ever worship celebration in 1976, we are including the plus (+). The “+” also directs us to the many more years of our undertakings as a church. ICS’ story, although shaped in the last 40 years, will continue to unfold in the years to come.
4D+ also stands for “FOR THE CROSS”. Using shortcut texts, typical to how people nowadays compose text messages, the 4D+ stands for “FOR THE CROSS”. ICS story is summed up in this phrase. The Cross of Christ is the story of every believer saved from sins and reconciled to God. The Cross of Christ embraced by ICS is why it pursues its missionary call to “reach all peoples with the Gospel of Christ.” It is the primary impetus that propels us to exert every effort so that everyone can “worship God” and be nurtured with the love of God. This phrase ought to be a constant reminder for every member of ICS to give their life for Jesus and live FOR THE CROSS of Him who suffered for us.
The boat and the ICS fire-dove. The church, no matter how it prepares for the sail, cannot move forward apart from the Wind of God, the Holy Spirit. In the logo, the characters 4 and D form the sail of the boat, aptly describing the church as the sailboat. The inclusion of the fire-dove logo of ICS is a prophetic assertion that the Holy Wind of God will work on us and lead us to sail forward. In Christ our Strength, we will move forward with the Spirit of God to go and make disciples of all nations.
The waves. These waves symbolize the discipleship movements we desire to establish as we move forward. What is truly satisfying as a church is that God would empower us so we can establish multiplying discipleship movements. We are tasked to “Go and Make Disciples” and that is exactly what we will do: establish discipleship movements or caring communities in every community.
To some, this logo may just be a drawing. To us here at ICS, this logo reminds us of our need to celebrate God’s goodness evident throughout the 40 years (and more) of ICS. Also, this challenges us, in the many more years to come, to move forward in the power of the Spirit with the mission of establishing discipleship movements here in this nation and wherever He directs us. God be praised!
Milestones are supposed to be remembered and celebrated. These are moments when we reflect on what has hap- pened while at the same time look to the future with hope and anticipation.
This coming January 2016, ICS will celebrate its 40th anniversary and while we remember and celebrate the past, we do so in the context of God’s faithfulness. Without God’s leading and guidance, we would be lost and divided as a church. We have seen a wonderful transformation in our church and we can only attribute it to the Holy Spirit’s work in the hearts of people. May we all unite in the spirit of gratitude and thanksgiving to God for what He has done.
And as we reflect on the future, we open ourselves to God’s calling to spread His gospel of love and grace so that more people may experience the life-changing power of Jesus. We are called as a church to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth. May we answer that call and may we share our time, talent and resources so that others may experience His gift of salvation.
Let us not just be spectators in this important milestone of ICS. Let us all be active participants. And as we prepare to greet one another a Happy 40th Anniversary, let us reflect on God’s word to the Israelites as they were about to enter the promised land. – By: Ardie Balderrama
“Be careful to obey all the commands I am giving you today. Then you will live and multi- ply, and you will enter and occupy the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors. Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands. – Deuteronomy 8:1-2 (NLT)
The 40th Anniversary Core Team is busy planning for our mega celebration to be held in January 2016. We’ve already started doing small presentations since last Sunday of August by showing a life testimony video of a married couple whose life was totally changed by God through the Care Group Ministry of ICS.
We aim to bless God and our church members with projects that will show how the Lord has been good to us the past four decades. Every month leading to January, expect the team to launch small productions that will make us remember our past, cherish the season we are in now, and look forward to more glorious days. More life testimonies coming to the small screen? Maybe a major production in Christmas? A fellowship night with old ICS members? How about a free evangelistic concert where you can invite all your friends?
Four months until January and we’re off to celebrating big time what God has done for our church. Plans may fail but the glory of God will manifest in each of our lives. And so…let the anticipation begin!
ICS has always been obedient to the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ. As a church, we are committed to connecting people and discipling them to follow Jesus. New followers of Christ must be trained and developed to become effec- tive disciples and someday, disciplers. We have the ‘Basic Equipping Track’ to help every follower to be equipped for life and service—“Life in Christ”, “Follow Jesus, Fish for Men”, “Faith Foundation”, and “Leading Like Jesus” seminars. These are standard trainings offered regularly so everyone in the community will be guided from being a seeker to a movement-maker.
All of us need to be equipped to better serve our Lord. Watch out for the next training schedule and join us. Every session will be a time of learning, enriching, and fellowship with fellow believers.
Everyone is encouraged to join our Equipping Track this Sunday from 12:30 to 2PM. Please submit your names to your Care Group Leaders. Thank you and God bless you!
